All persons fishing will need to have a valid fishing license and I reserve the right to ask to see them before you board.  TPWD and the Texas Game Wardens visit our lakes and we all need to be prepared should they come and visit us.

Current Texas laws allow you to keep up to 3 redfish over 20" caught in freshwater lakes.  These fish are stocked for our enjoyment and do not follow salt water regulations.  You will not need a salt stamp, and if you do have a salt tag you will not use up your 28" redfish tag.  In fact most of your redfish will be over 28", how awesome is that?

You might be wondering about redfish in freshwater at this point.  Well back in the 1960's a few Texas lakes were stocked with different types of game fish to see which might survive.  It turns out that redfish grow rapidly in power plant lakes that keep the water temperatures over 78 degrees in the winter.  These fish don't reproduce, they are stocked annually with money collected from the cost of your fishing license.  Just another reason to stay legal on the water.

The lakes are a short drive from just about anywhere in Central Texas.  Expect about a 45 minute drive from downtown San Antonio and about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Austin.  This might surprise you but many of my customers come from the Austin/Round Rock area in between trips to the coast.
